Ireland day 5

Reginald's tower
aug 10 wed
we spent the morning in Waterford, visiting the town and enjoying the remaining sun. we visited Reginald's tower, where they gave us the story of the city and it was really
interesting. we then spent the rainy afternoon relaxing at home and had a smashing roast dinner cooked by our good friend Vanessa :)
later on we'll catch the bus to Dublin airport where we are scheduled to leave from early tomorrow morning.
having a laugh :)
on the whole, I found the Irish very open people, always quite happy and easy going. we really enjoyed our stay here and the hospitality of our friends. and tomorrow we're off to the Faroe islands, a drastic change of scenery! :)

Ireland day 3

aug 8 mon
the wife is enjoying herself :)
had a nice walk along Dublin's docks this morning, after sayin goodbye to Philippa who went off on a bike ride. after a pub lunch we took the coach down to Waterford - the scenery along the way was pretty much like northern England, I still don't know what all the fuss is about…

insets in the riverside pavement

anyway, the first impression of Waterford is that it looks pretty much like Eastbourne, what with being a seaside town and all --well, on an estuary, actually. it's sunny and warm and windy - the works! :)
I had a slight headache on the way down, probably due to the cider I drunk. although I like cider, it's not really my drink… tonight we planned to go out for a drink, to get to know the local pubs ^_^
